ABRIDGED HISTORIES:

 

Mid 21st Century

- Earliest production satellites orbiting Terra

- MicroTech environmental cleaning released to filter polluted Terra of micro-plastics etc.

- Terraform research satellites constructed around Ares and Aphros. The three orbiting Ares will be known in later ages as ‘Rainmaker’, ‘Sunshield’, and ‘(Eye of) Horus’. For Aphros; ‘The 3 Magi’.

- MT filtering system becomes unstable, exponentially acquiring mass as it consumes everything it touches.

- Environmental collapse, mass extinctions

- ‘Exodus’, the surviving Homo Sapien populace leaves Terra. 98% are put into stasis alongside the surviving genetic records (plant/animal) orbiting Aphros in space arks to await the terraformation of Ares & Aphros (‘The Long Sleep’).

- Homo Machina: remaining 2% connected to life support machinery.

-Terra completely consumed by MT Plagues

-Luna is destroyed in a bombardment after MT Plague drifts across space.

 

<500 PE (Post Exodus)

- Robotics factories begin to assemble the machine workforce it will take to terraform Ares.

-Machines transverse the OZ (Outer Zones) to begin mining gas and minerals from Jove & Chronos.

-Asteroids containing materials neccassary for Ares terraformation are disturbed from orbit and launched into the planet’s surface.   

 

1000 PE

-Aerostat habitats completed inside the oxygen zone of Aphros’ atmosphere. 

-Protophyll colonies sharing the Aphros Zone grow basic nutrients using energy from sun.

- ‘The First Resurrection’ - The ancestors of Homo Astra are revived from Homo Sapien stock aboard space arks, migrating to Aerostat habitats.

- An organic labour force able to withstand the inhospitable mines inside the OZ is developed in the internal laboratories of the Rainmaker. Ancestors of the Ohrn.

- ‘Jump’ engines developed, creating short bursts or skips across space. The prototype vessel vanishes, travelling randomly across the Zones. Becomes a legendary ghost ship amongst later space travellers

 

1500 PE

​

- The atmosphere and surface environs of Ares are now sufficient to support organic life.

-Equatorial ‘Genesis Pits’ rapidly evolve basic life-forms and release them onto surface of Ares.  

-Slow collapse of aerostat habitats. Populace migrates to Protophyll colonies. ‘The First Colonists’

-The machines of Ares petition the Rainmaker to be free of their labours after building a tower inside the Robot Graveyard. Once released as the ‘Free Machines’, they leave Ares en masse (The Machine Exodus) and begin to travel toward the IZ (‘Inner Zones’)

-Ohrn replace machines as labour force within OZ mines. Initially they are an obedient new life-form.

 

2000 PE

​

- ‘The Second Resurrection’: as promised to the Rainmaker, the Free Machines revive those space arks that were never successfully brought out of stasis, during their migrations toward Aphros. This new populace is more aggressive than the First Colonists, and they soon dominate the Chlorophyll colonies, establishing themselves alongside the original inhabitants.

- The Second Colonists reach Ares by invitation from the Rainmaker, Sunshield, and Horus.

-Civil War erupts between waves of Second Colonists settling in Ares. At its 100 year conclusion the Scion Houses emerge, dividing the equatorial territories amongst their nominal leaders.

 

2200 PE

​

-Supervision Army formed on behalf of Rainmaker to suppress the Ohrn revolution on the moons of Jove. ‘Jovian Wars’

- ‘Age of Ares’ begins. Ares controls the Zones of the solar system with Supervision Army trading resources with the Protophyll colonies.

- Resource elevator renamed Skywell. Capital of Ares and the Scion houses

- The Oracle is recorded in histories as being operational around this period. First contacted by migrating Free Machines.

-Free Machines rebuild the defunct Magi satellites orbiting Aphros.

-MT plague consumes colony ‘Tavros-2’.

 

>2300 PE

​

- Mass breakout of Ohrn. Second Jovian War.

- Tortuga asteroid established in the dark zone near Chronos. Later becomes a haven for pirate Ohrn and escaped prisoners from IZ.

 

>3000 PE

​

-Raid of the Sunshield satellite by cabal of Free Machines, led by Shaitan.

- Outbreak of MT plague on colonies. Free Machines intervene after the loss of Skorpios-8, Ihtheis-12, and Toksotis-9.

-Rise of the ‘X’ crusade (Decussate/Khios) amongst X-chromosome carriers within colonies. Overthrow Zygos-7 & Aigokeros-10.

-“Chromosome Wars” begin. Rainmaker recalls SA fleet from outer zones to put down the religious crusade before it spreads to other IZ colonies.
